Myotherapy is a manual therapy used to diagnose, treat and manage acute and chronic pain relating to dysfunction of muscles and connective tissue. It is based predominantly on the research in the area of trigger point therapy, pioneered by Dr Janet Travell and Dr David Simons.
A Myotherapist may also incorporate several other modalities at their disposal such as massage, myofascial dry needling, myofascial or neurological stretching, rehab exercise and nutritional advice.
Myotherapists are skilled in the treatment of sports injuries, chronic pain and generalised muscle tension.
